Grants to North Carolina nonprofit organizations in eligible areas for services that benefit local residents. Funding is intended for programs and activities within the focus areas of economic opportunity, health, safety, and connected communities. Eligible programs benefit the residents of Mecklenburg County.

Eligibility Requirements

- Serve County residents
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation
- Independently audited financials by a CPA
- Diversified workforce documentation (EEO policy)
- Professional membership
- Registered with the Secretary of State as Active
- Clearly contribute to one of the four goal areas

Any nonprofit that has received funding for three consecutive fiscal years (FY2021 – FY2022 - FY2023) will be sunset and provided the opportunity to apply for a vendor relationship with the County in FY2024. If selected as a vendor, the program will no longer compete in the CSG process.

Pre-proposal Conference:

Mecklenburg County will hold an in-person information session for its Fiscal Year 2024 Community Service Grants program (CSG) on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Room 267 of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center (600 East 4th Street, Charlotte).

Pre-Application Information:

The CSG application will be available Tuesday, November 1 through Monday, December 5, 2022.

The grant award funding period is July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
