Grants ranging from $3,000 to $15,000 to North Carolina nonprofit organizations and government agencies for new or existing programs that make a positive impact on the lives women and girls in Avery, Ashe, or Watauga Counties. Priority consideration is given to proposals which can show long-term sustainability and collaboration with other non-profits.

Impact Grant Focus Areas:

-Education: Increasing individual knowledge is a powerful tool. There are many ways that women can increase their knowledge and skills. Organizations that apply for these grants should strive to use creative solutions to help women and girls further their education.

-Human Services: Providing direct services to women and girls is critical in helping them thrive. Organizations that apply for these grants should provide services which directly benefit women and girls.

-Health and Wellness: Access to affordable medical care is critical. Organizations that apply for these grants should focus on ensuring the health and wellness of women and girls.

-Empowerment: Empowering women enables them to live a full and meaningful life. Organizations that apply for these grants should invest in the growth and development of women and girls.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any 501(c)3 organization or government entity which provides program or services that benefit women and girls who live in Ashe, Avery, or Watauga Counties.

Grant funds are intended to be used for what is submitted in the proposal and not for normal operating expenses.

Please attend one of these meetings to learn what is new for the 2019-20 grant cycle, who the Fund supports and critical datelines. There will be time for questions.

Tuesday, April 30: Avery County Library 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 1: Ashe County Library 11:00 a.m. - Noon
Wednesday, May 1: Watauga County Library 4:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m

Pre-Application Information:

The Grant Application window for 2019 will run from Wednesday, May 15, 2019 to Monday, July 1, 2019.

Grants must be submitted in the required format via email. No other formats or delivery methods will be accepted.

The Committee will determine grant recipients no later than August 23, 2019, and will notify organizations receiving funds by August 30, 2019.

Funding will be awarded on Monday, September 16, 2019 at an awards luncheon.
