Grants of up to $10,000 to North Carolina nonprofit organizations, congregations, government institutions, and educational institutions in eligible regions for activities that address a community need. The Foundation primarily supports programs that align with the following areas of focus: arts and culture, education, and human services. Eligible regions include Stanly County.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The most common award amount since the Foundation began awarding funds is $2,000. Most previous awards have been between $1,000 and $5,000, but for the most competitive applications, the board will consider awards up to $10,000. Proposals for larger grant awards are encouraged to identify additional funding sources and partnerships with other organizations.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible organizations for competitive grantmaking programs include:
-501(c)3 nonprofits
-Governmental institutions
-Educational institutions

If the organization conducting the project does not meet these criteria, you can apply for a grant under the fiscal sponsorship of an eligible organization.

Please note, the following areas do not fall within Stanly County Community Foundation’s current funding priorities:
-Capital campaign requests
-Debt retirement/deficit funding
-Duplication of existing programs
-Endowment funds
-Publication of books
-Projects typically the funding responsibility of government
-Sponsorships or fundraisers

Please note, the following areas are ineligible for funding:
-Projects that promote political or religious views
-Political or lobbying activities
