One award valued at $3,000 and awards valued at $750 to USA teachers of first through fourth grades for incorporating a children's book series into the classroom curriculum. The winning entries will be judged on how well the children's book series was used to teach subjects such as history, math, and science.

One grand prize winner will receive:
- A trip to New York City to have lunch with authors Mary Pope Osborne and Natalie Pope Boyce
- Two autographed sets of the entire Magic Tree House series—one for the winner’s classroom, and one for the winner’s school library
- A $500 gift card for classroom supplies
- A Skype school visit with Mary Pope Osborne and Natalie Pope Boyce

Three runners-up will receive:
- An autographed set of the entire Magic Tree House series for your classroom
- A $250 gift card for classroom supplies

Estimated Size of Grant:

The grand prize winner will receive (i) a trip to New York City to have lunch with authors Mary Pope Osborne and Natalie Pope Boyce; $500 worth of Random House Children’s Books for the classroom; two autographed sets of all the books currently in the Magic Tree House series (one set for the winner’s classroom, one set for the winner’s school library); a $500 gift card for classroom supplies from a vendor chosen by Random House; and an author visit from Mary Pope Osborne and Natalie Pope Boyce via Skype technology. Trip includes round- trip coach air transportation for one (1) person from a major commercial airport near winner’s home to New York, NY; two (2) nights’ lodging (standard accommodations, single occupancy), and transfer to and from the airport in New York. If the Winners point of origin is, or is close to New York City (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), Sponsor may replace Economy Class air transportation with other ground transportation in its sole and absolute discretion and no compensation or substitution will be provided for difference in prize value. Grand Prize Approximate Retail Value: $3000.

Runner-Up Winner(s) will each receive (i) autographed set of all the books currently in the Magic Tree House series and a $250 gift card for classroom supplies from a vendor chosen by Random House. Approximate Retail Value: $750.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Contest is open to teachers of first, second, third, and fourth grade classes at schools located in the fifty (50) states, or the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry. All federal, state, and local regulations apply.

Employees of Random House Children's Books, a division of Penguin Random House LLC, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, and agencies, and their immediate family members and persons living in their household are not eligible to enter the Contest.

If winner cannot travel by the dates specified by the sponsor, the prize will be forfeited in its entirety and an alternate Winner may be chosen. Winner will be responsible for all gratuities, meals, ground transportation, and any other incidental costs or expenses not expressly identified in these rules.

Pre-Application Information:

The Contest begins at 12:00AM EST on December 3, 2019, and ends at 12:00AM EST on April 12, 2019.

Entries must be mailed separately and received by Random House no earlier than December 3, 2018, and postmarked no later than April 12, 2019.

On or about April 27, 2019, one grand prize winner and three runner-up winners will be selected from all eligible entries received by the entry deadline.

Winners will be notified via email and must respond to email notification within five (5) days of receipt.

Limit one entry per person.
